PSYCHOLOGICAL DISTRESS DUE TO COVID -19
Corona virus infection is highly contagious diseases and transmitted transmission of COVID 19 viruses are from person-to-person and similar to seasonal influenza and may cause the same symptoms. The psychological impact of COVID-19 pandemic was prevalent among people. Depression and anxiety was more common among general population and healthcare workers. The recent Covid-19 pandemic has had significant psychological and social effects on the population. Research has highlighted the impact on psychological well-being of the most exposed groups, including children, college students, and health workers, who are more likely to develop post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, depression, and other symptoms of distress. People have huge impact of the pandemic on their mental health and it also affects the physical health. For better dealing with these psychosocial issues of different strata of the society, psychosocial crisis prevention and intervention models should be urgently developed by the government, health care personnel and other stakeholders.[Full Text Article]
