ABSTRACT
Orangetheory Fitness, with the motto "More Life," focuses on a dynamic blend of strength and cardio training, using heart rate zones to supercharge metabolism and burn calories, with the goal of achieving a longer, more vibrant life through exercise. Orangetheory uses a combination of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) and traditional cardio to help members reach their fitness goals – whether that be weight loss, strength or endurance. HIIT is a technique where you alternate between shorter periods of high-intensity exercise and periods of less intense exercise or recovery, and research shows that HIIT workouts may be better than traditional steady state cardio when it comes to fat loss. While Orangetheory uses HIIT concepts, the workout also works on cardiovascular endurance by steadily raising the heart rate, which helps with overall endurance, power and strength. Orangetheory workouts are a form of high-intensity interval training, alternating between short periods of intense exercise and long recovery periods. These hour-long sessions are designed to generate excess post-exercise oxygen consumption (EPOC).
