Depending on what caused it, a chronic daily headache might be classified as either a primary or secondary headache. Over 90% of headaches are classified as primary headaches, like tension and cluster headaches. Secondary headaches can be brought on by underlying chronic diseases and are frequently brought on by excessive usage of drugs. Objective: To determine the prevalence of chronic headaches in the population of Mosul city as well as investigate the risk factors that may be associated with headaches. Methods: A hospital-based cross-sectional study. It was from the period of January to June in the year 2024. A total of 500 study participants were included in the study. The study was conducted at Al Salam teaching hospital. The questionnaire, is comprised of three sections. The First section for sociodemographic and anthropometric information, the second section for social, psychological and chronic diseases. The third section for different types of headaches. Among 18 patients with chronic headache 11 (61.1%) were females and 7 (38.9%) were males.
